Wakanda Forever: Remembering the Life of Chadwick Boseman

"Sometimes you need to feel the pain and sting of defeat to activate the real passion and purpose that God predestined inside of you.” - Chadwick Boseman

On August 28th, 2020, nearly 72 hours ago, my heart was heavy after hearing of the passing of Actor and Activist: Chadwick Boseman. Many knew him as the Black Panther a part of the Marvel movies or Jackie Robinson in 42... but for the black community, he represented something so much more.

Young black boys and girls were able to see someone who looked like them be the hero, encourager, challenger, and someone to be like in a positive light. Chadwick created a legacy in a short amount of time that will last an eternity.

One of my favorite quotes from the Black Panther movie is this:

"Show them who you are!" - Ramonda

It comes at a paramount time in the film when T'challa is fighting for occupancy of the throne for Wakanda. While suffocating, Boseman hears these words and awakens into something special... something powerful. He finds his identity and takes his seat as Wakanda's rightful King.

This cinematic moment reminds me of a passage in Scripture found in Galatians 2:20:

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

I am His child. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. He is the Alpha and the Omega, beginning, and end. He will always have the final say.

I close with this final quote remembering the life of Chadwick Boseman:

"You have to cherish things in a different way when you know the clock is ticking, you are under pressure." - Chadwick Boseman

Wakanda Forever!
